“And suddenly you know: It’s time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings.” — Meister Eckhart
Hey there Reader,
I’ve been thinking a lot about expansion.
Not the polished, perfectly planned kind.
The real kind.
The kind that is exciting and uncomfortable at the same time. The kind that asks you to stretch before you feel fully ready. The kind that brings possibility, pressure, momentum, uncertainty, and that little voice that says, “Are we really doing this?”
And the answer is yes.
We are really doing this.
Over the next couple of months, I’ll be stepping into a big season of growth. I’m in the process of acquiring another company, which means transitioning into something new while still leading what already exists.
That also means I’ll be running multiple companies, continuing to grow the work we’re doing, and preparing to launch a new book project in September.
And then in October, I’ll be heading off for my annual travel to Europe.
So yes, there is a lot happening.
And if I’m being honest, I feel all of it.
The excitement. The gratitude. The stress. The anticipation. The anxiety. The big vision. The tiny details.
Because growth is not always calm.
Sometimes growth feels like standing in the middle of a room full of open tabs — in your business, in your calendar, and in your brain.
But here is what I keep coming back to:
Expansion does not only ask us to do more. It asks us to become more intentional about who we are becoming while we do it.
That is the part I’ve been sitting with.
Acquiring another company is not just a business decision. It is a leadership decision. A culture decision. A people decision. A values decision.
It is an opportunity to ask:
What are we building?
What needs to be honored?
What needs to change?
Who needs to feel seen through the transition?
How do we grow without losing the heart of what made the work meaningful in the first place?
That matters to me because I’ve never believed business is just business.
Business is people.
Leadership is people.
Culture is people.
And when you are stepping into something bigger, you have to be careful not to let the pace of growth make you forget the humanity inside of it.
At the same time, I’m preparing for a new book project, which feels like its own kind of expansion.
Books require you to put your thoughts, your experience, your perspective, and sometimes your heart on the page. They ask you to clarify what you believe and share something that might help someone else see themselves, their leadership, or their possibilities differently.
That is exciting. And vulnerable. And meaningful.
And then there is travel.
My annual trip to Europe has become more than a vacation. It is a reset. A reminder. A classroom.
I’ve always wanted to see so many places and absorb new cultures. I love learning from how other people live, eat, gather, move, create, and connect.
Travel shapes me because it pulls me out of routine and reminds me that there are so many ways to live a life. So many ways to define success. So many ways to experience beauty. So many ways to be human.
And maybe that is exactly what I need in the middle of all this expansion.
The business growth. The book launch. The transition. The responsibility. The travel. The unknown.
All of it is reminding me that we are allowed to be excited and anxious at the same time.
We are allowed to feel grateful and overwhelmed at the same time.
We are allowed to be proud of what we are building and still need a minute to catch our breath.
That is where I am right now.
Standing at the edge of expansion. Not with every answer. Not with every detail perfectly figured out.
But with a deep sense that this next season is asking me to trust myself, trust the work, trust the people around me, and stay grounded while more is unfolding.
Maybe that is the real work of expansion. Not just saying yes to more. But learning how to stay rooted while more is becoming possible.
Something to think about:
Where in your life are you being invited into expansion, even if it feels both exciting and uncomfortable?
Take action:
This week, look at one area where you are growing, changing, or stepping into something new. Instead of only asking, “What do I have to do?” ask, “Who do I need to become to move through this with clarity, courage, and grace?”
Hit reply and tell me:
What is one new beginning you are standing at the edge of right now?
All the love,
Maria
