Hey there Reader,
I’ve been thinking about laughter.
The real kind.
The kind that catches you off guard.
The kind where you can barely get the words out.
The kind that makes a hard day feel a little less heavy.
I don’t know about you, but sometimes I realize I’ve been so focused on being responsible, informed, productive, prepared, and aware that I’ve forgotten to leave room for lightness.
And yes, there are serious things happening.
There are real responsibilities.
Real challenges.
Real problems to solve.
But laughter is not a denial of reality. Sometimes laughter is how we survive reality.
It reconnects us to ourselves.
It reconnects us to each other.
It interrupts the spiral.
It reminds us that even in heavy seasons, we are allowed to experience light moments.
Maybe part of what we miss about simpler times is that laughter used to find us more easily.
Before everything became content.
Before every issue became urgent.
Before we carried the whole world in our hands.
But we can invite laughter back in.
We can call the friend who always makes us laugh.
Watch the show that lets us exhale.
Tell the ridiculous story.
Let ourselves be silly without needing a reason.
Laughter does not solve everything. But it softens something. And sometimes that is enough to help us keep going.
