“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” — Maya Angelou
Hey there Reader,
This week, I’ve been thinking about stories.
The ones we carry.
The ones we outgrow.
The ones we inherit.
The ones we rewrite.
And the ones we finally become brave enough to tell.
As I get ready to launch this new book project in the next few weeks, I’ve been thinking about why books matter so much.
Not just because they share information.
But because they create connection.
Someone writes from their lived experience — their lessons, failures, healing, leadership, questions, truth — and someone else reads it and thinks:
I needed this.
I’m not alone.
Maybe I can do this too.
That is powerful.
And it is one of the reasons this project means so much to me.
I believe there are so many people walking around with stories, wisdom, experience, and insight that could help someone else.
But they wait.
They wait until they feel more ready. More polished. More qualified. More confident. More certain.
They wait for the perfect time.
And the perfect time rarely announces itself.
Sometimes the invitation is simply to start.
Say yes.
Put the thought on paper.
Share the lesson.
Trust that what you have lived, learned, survived, built, questioned, created, or overcome may be exactly what someone else needs to hear.
That is what I love about book projects.
They are not only about becoming an author.
They are about turning experience into contribution.
They give people a place to put the lessons that shaped them, so those lessons can reach beyond them.
And yes, that can feel vulnerable.
Writing asks us to tell the truth. It asks us to get clear. It asks us to stop hiding behind “someday.” It asks us to decide that our voice matters enough to use it.
That is not always easy.
But it is meaningful.
For me, this project is arriving in the middle of a season of tremendous expansion.
I’ve acquired another company. I’m leading multiple businesses. I’m stepping into new responsibilities. I’m planning travel. I’m holding excitement, anxiety, vision, and logistics all at once.
And still, this project feels important.
Maybe especially now.
Because in seasons of growth, we are reminded that our work is not only about what we build.
It is about what we help others believe is possible.
If this book project helps even one person claim their voice, share their story, step into their leadership, or see their experience as valuable, then it matters.
That is what I’m holding as we move toward October 6th, the day the book launches.
Stories create possibility.
Voices deserve space.
Impact multiplies when people are willing to share what they know.
And sometimes the thing you are waiting to say may be the very thing someone else is waiting to hear.
Something to think about:
What story, lesson, or experience have you been carrying that might be valuable to someone else?
Take action:
This week, write down one lesson life has taught you that you know could help someone else. Don’t worry about making it perfect. Just name it. Sometimes the first step toward sharing your voice is simply admitting that you have something worth saying.
Hit reply and tell me:
What is one story or lesson you feel called to share in this season of your life?
